Case Study: Jungheinrich AG achieves rapid recovery and improved IT availability with Veeam

A Veeam Case Study

Preview of the Jungheinrich AG Case Study

Jungheinrich supports the transformation of its global IT into a private cloud with Veeam

Jungheinrich, a global intralogistics solutions provider with 18,000 employees, transformed its IT into a private cloud hosting ~2,500 virtual machines and over 1 PB of data to support Industry 4.0 initiatives. During the migration the company discovered its legacy backup tools couldn’t scale, so it needed a simpler, automated, fast-recovery solution that met performance and compliance requirements across dozens of sites.

Jungheinrich deployed Veeam Availability Suite with an SSD-based backup repository and an S3-compatible copy tier (with WORM protection), working with Veeam and Bechtle to design a non-disruptive architecture; plans include a third cloud copy for added resilience. The result: improved IT availability, standardized backups across distributed HCI sites, automated recovery testing, and the ability to restore critical applications—including terabyte-scale SAP databases—in minutes instead of days.
