Isuzu Motors South Africa (IMSAF), formed in 2018 after acquiring GM’s local operations, is an automotive manufacturer and distributor supporting 115 dealers and more than 1,000 employees. Faced with the need to build its own IT infrastructure, IMSAF found legacy backup solutions were slow to recover SAP—risking hours or days of downtime that would interrupt parts ordering, production and vehicle sales.

IMSAF replaced legacy backup with Veeam Backup & Replication and the Veeam Plug‑in for SAP HANA, enabling native backint integration, instant recovery and off‑site replication for BC/DR. The change delivered a 99% improvement in SAP recovery speed, supported nearly 9% vehicle sales growth year over year, introduced first‑ever replication capabilities, and added AES‑256 encryption to help meet POPI compliance.
