eMag Solutions is an international e‑discovery and computer forensics firm that handles highly confidential client data. When its hosted Exchange service with BT left the company without direct administrative control, uncertain backups and rising costs, eMag decided to bring email in‑house and adopt enterprise‑grade data protection to eliminate that business risk.

Working with Recarta IT, eMag migrated Exchange onto a VMware datacenter and implemented Veeam Backup & Replication. Veeam now provides nightly backup and replication with SureBackup verification, protects the firm’s VM library and Active Directory domains, and dramatically improved performance — reducing a backup job from six hours to one, restoring a 170 GB Exchange server in under an hour and single mailboxes in less than 15 minutes — while ensuring client data remains secure and recoverable.
