INTA pushes the boundaries of scientific research in aerospace, security and defense by enabling never-fail access to data

Spain’s National Institute of Aerospace Technology (INTA) is a public R&D organization that advances aerospace, aeronautics, hydrodynamics, security and defense technologies. INTA needed more reliable, granular and faster data protection—its previous backup solution was slow to restore items (even single emails), didn’t optimize storage, and risked vendor lock-in as the institute moved toward hybrid cloud.

Working with partner Syvalue, INTA deployed Veeam Availability Suite to protect 80 TB of project data, 300 Hyper‑V VMs, 2,000 Exchange mailboxes, Active Directory and SAP HANA. Backups now complete faster and use less storage thanks to incremental processing and deduplication; role-based restore and built-in search let IT recover individual emails and systems in minutes instead of hours; and the vendor‑agnostic, cloud-ready design improves agility while paving the way for a third cloud backup and further Veeam integrations.
