Insiel reduces recovery times for 4,900 VMs with Veeam

Insiel, the in-house ICT company for the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region in Italy, needed to modernize its data resilience to protect critical public services. Their legacy backup tool could not keep pace with their evolving, complex infrastructure, which supports healthcare, municipalities, and regional government bodies. To ensure 24/7 availability and better guard against cyberthreats, Insiel sought a more modern and flexible data protection solution.

To address this, Insiel chose Veeam after a competitive tender, implementing Veeam Data Platform and Veeam Kasten for Kubernetes with support from partner Sinthera. The Veeam solution streamlined backup and recovery processes, enabled clearer retention policies to cut storage costs, and significantly reduced recovery times for mission-critical data. Authorized users, including some in healthcare, can now perform independent recoveries, removing IT bottlenecks and improving service responsiveness.
