HDI Seguros, a São Paulo–based property and casualty insurer with more than 60 branches, runs a 100% virtualized IT environment of some 300+ VMware VMs and ~65TB of data across two datacenters. Its legacy backup tool was built for physical servers, making VM backups slow, storage-hungry and dependent on agents—so emergency backups and efficient recovery were impractical.

HDI adopted Veeam Backup & Replication, an agentless solution built for virtualization with built‑in deduplication and compression. Backups became four times faster with much lower storage requirements, fast incremental and archival options to tape/cloud were enabled, and critical VMs and applications can be recovered in minutes (Instant VM Recovery), delivering reliable, cost‑effective protection for the company’s virtual environment.
