A Veeam Case Study
Germain Hôtels is a family‑owned Canadian hotel chain operating 19 hotels (and several restaurants and bars) that prides itself on exceptional guest service. As the business grew more reliant on technology, its file‑level backup solution couldn’t protect databases and virtual machines, creating risk for bookings, payments and regulatory compliance (including Quebec’s Law 25 and card‑payment rules) and prompting a need for stronger, sovereign data protection and faster recovery.
Working with VCSP Opti9, Germain Hôtels deployed the Veeam Data Platform and Veeam Cloud Connect to re‑architect backup and disaster‑recovery: local backups at each hotel, replication to a central site, and offsite retention in a Canadian private cloud. The new solution protects hundreds of VMs, meets 3‑2‑1‑1‑0 best practices, and delivered a roughly 30× improvement in recovery speed (from a week to just hours), shorter backup windows, higher success rates, lower backup costs and reduced administrative burden.
