GameStop Corp., a Fortune 500 video game retailer with about 6,600 stores and extensive e‑commerce operations, needed better visibility into its VMware vSphere environment. The IT team was spending too much time troubleshooting virtual issues, lacked detailed vCenter and performance data for capacity planning, and wanted a VMware monitoring solution that worked with their existing Microsoft System Center tools.
They implemented Veeam Management Pack for VMware in System Center Operations Manager, which detected issues more reliably than competing tools and provided hundreds of metrics across VMs, hosts, clusters and vCenter. The result was a substantial reduction in mean time to resolution, a single-pane view of physical and virtual health, and granular performance data that supports proactive capacity planning.
