Future Generali India Life Insurance (FGILI) is a joint-venture life insurer that has pursued a digital transformation since 2015, moving to an omnichannel model that generates large volumes of structured and unstructured customer data. That growth created hundreds of data silos across a hybrid cloud (customer-facing apps on Microsoft Azure, sensitive workloads on Nutanix), and FGILI needed to simplify enterprise data management, ensure secure access for agents and employees, and guarantee 24/7 business continuity—requirements that became urgent during the COVID-19 lockdown.

FGILI deployed Veeam (Veeam Availability Suite and Veeam Backup for Nutanix AHV) to provide replication, instant VM recovery, monitoring and direct restore to Azure. The team moved 100 TB to Azure in a week to support 3,500 remote workers, achieving 100% business continuity, a 100% backup success rate and 99% recovery success, halving recovery time from 48 to 24 hours, enabling twice-daily backups and delivering 50% faster backup performance.
