Ovations Food Services, a Lutz, Florida–based provider of food and beverage services to stadiums, arenas and other public venues, runs a fully virtualized environment (three VMware hosts, 19 VMs) supporting about 650 users. The IT team needed to replicate roughly 10 GB/day to a DR site over a high‑latency, lossy WAN, but replication was taking up to 15 hours—forcing them to pick which VMs to protect and threatening their RTO/RPO goals.
