First Hospital of Qinhuangdao, a large Class‑A hospital in Hebei, has rapidly expanded its facilities and digital services and now runs hundreds of interconnected healthcare systems (HIS, LIS, PACS) on 700 VMware VMs. With patient volumes growing to as many as 6,000 outpatients a day, the hospital needed enterprise‑class data protection to prevent cascading downtime, reduce backup windows and minimize the risk of data loss across mission‑critical systems.

Working with partner Hebei Yuncong, the hospital implemented Veeam Backup & Replication with Continuous Data Protection (CDP), gaining tight VMware integration and ready‑to‑start VM replicas. The solution cut RPO to as little as 30 seconds and RTOs to 5–60 minutes (about one hour on average), enabled live VM migrations with no service impact, and delivered rapid real‑world recoveries for front‑line services.
