A Veeam Case Study
Barren County School District, a fast-growing district in south central Kentucky serving about 4,700 students and running a 99% virtualized server environment, needed to replace a costly, hard-to-manage physical backup system for its VMware infrastructure. With roughly 35 virtual servers, the IT team sought a simpler, faster virtualized backup solution that would scale with student and staff needs.
They implemented Veeam Backup & Replication, which dramatically sped up operations and reduced storage use: file-level recovery became essentially instantaneous (under one minute), a 97% improvement; full VM restores are expected to drop from days to under 30 minutes (estimated 98% improvement); and two weeks of backups now use only about 20% of previous storage. The district cites lower cost, easier management, and much faster backups and restores.
