A Veeam Case Study
Euralis, a French agricultural and agri‑food cooperative with €1.4 billion turnover and international operations, needed to modernize aging backup systems to protect ~100 TB across a 95% virtualized environment. With decades of research data, lab, supply‑chain and HR systems at stake, the IT team faced long backup windows, limited daily backup frequency, unacceptable recovery times and growing cyber‑threats such as Cryptolocker.
By deploying Veeam Availability Suite and Veeam ONE, Euralis cut backup windows from 32 to six hours, increased backup frequency, and used Instant VM Recovery to reduce VM restore times from 60 minutes to two (and file recovery from 30 to ~10 minutes). The changes improved recovery‑rate success from 70% to 99%, shortened major‑incident recovery from a week to 24 hours, reduced daily management to ~15 minutes through automation, and strengthened resilience with built‑in AES‑256 encryption and better monitoring and reporting.
