A Veeam Case Study
Endress+Hauser Flowtec AG, a leading manufacturer of industrial flow meters, had virtualized much of its server landscape (about 70 VMs) but was still using slow, script-based backups that were time-consuming and inadequate for protecting business-critical applications like SQL Server, Active Directory and file servers. As part of a software renewal they needed a modern, flexible solution to accelerate backups and simplify disaster recovery.
They deployed Veeam Backup & Replication v5 Enterprise with Dell EqualLogic storage and additional Dell servers over iSCSI; Veeam’s deduplication, vPower recovery features and intuitive interface reduced full backup time to roughly 5% of the previous duration, improved restore speed and reliability, simplified administration and readied the environment for further VMware expansion.
