A Veeam Case Study
UBS SDIC Fund Management, a leading Chinese fund manager, needed to modernize data management as regulators and growing virtualization increased demands for secure, verifiable backups and uninterrupted business continuity. Outdated hardware and manual standby processes made failover slow and unreliable, and the company planned active‑active data centers and a disaster‑recovery strategy that required faster, automated backup and recovery.
UBS SDIC deployed Veeam Backup & Replication (with Veeam ONE monitoring) to provide agentless image-level backups, fast compression and deduplication, instant VM recovery (vPower) and high throughput. The solution now handles local backups for about 120 VMs, backs up 800 GB in 16 minutes on a gigabit network, delivers ~1 GB/s per backup agent, speeds restores, reduces storage and labor costs, and improves availability to support the firm’s active‑active and DR objectives.
