East of England Co-op, a long-established regional retailer with 120 stores and 4,600 employees, faced rapidly expanding data (about 40% annual growth) that legacy backup systems could not handle—full backups could take up to 100 hours—putting recovery objectives and business continuity at risk across retail, post office and other services.
