Colorado Health Information Exchange Provides Data Caregivers Need to Improve Patient Care with Aid from Veeam and NewCloud

The Colorado Regional Health Information Organization (CORHIO) is a nonprofit digital health network that connects nearly 14,000 providers and houses 80 million clinical records for 5.4 million patients (about 52 TB and growing). CORHIO’s core challenge was ensuring that massive, continuously growing patient data remains instantly available and HIPAA‑protected so clinicians have the information they need at the point of care—even in emergencies.

To meet that need CORHIO partnered with NewCloud Networks and deployed Veeam Availability Suite on a NetApp‑based, HIPAA‑compliant cloud. The solution delivers monitoring, backup, disaster recovery and security as a service, preserving privacy while keeping records accessible. As a result CORHIO maintains availability of 80M+ records, supports healthy outcomes for 5.4M patients, and has confidently expanded services—improving care for sensitive populations such as at‑risk youth.
