The City of Lelystad, a Dutch municipality supporting over 75,000 residents, runs a largely virtualized IT environment (90% virtual, 130 Windows VMs across two datacentres). The IT team needed deeper VMware visibility, better capacity planning and faster, more reliable VM backups—nightly backups sometimes ran nine hours and recovery could exceed the city’s four-hour RTO.

Lelystad deployed Veeam Management Pack for VMware and Veeam Backup Management Suite to gain unified monitoring, capacity planning and fast, verifiable backups.
