Case Study: City of Vincent achieves State Records Act compliance and ransomware protection with Veeam

A Veeam Case Study

Preview of the City of Vincent Case Study

City of Vincent complies with Western Australia’s State Records Act and protects against ransomware with Veeam

The City of Vincent, a Perth local government serving nearly 40,000 residents, faced audit-identified gaps in off‑premises backup and disaster recovery that threatened compliance with Western Australia’s State Records Act and left critical services vulnerable to ransomware. Resolving those limitations became a top priority to protect recordkeeping, financial systems and online resident services.

Working with Veeam and Focus Networks, the City implemented Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam Cloud Connect and managed backup/DR services to deliver short‑term on‑premises copies, encrypted off‑site backups in a tier‑3 government‑approved data center, and definitive SLAs aligned to the 3‑2‑1‑1‑0 rule. The solution protects 15 TB across 37 VMs, enables rapid recovery, will extend to Office 365, and has improved compliance and IT resilience so the City can focus on delivering digital services to residents.
