Child Protection Council Picks Veeam for Modern Data Protection of VMware

Raad voor de Kinderbescherming is the Netherlands’ child protection council (part of the Ministry of Security and Justice) that runs mission-critical applications such as Oracle Siebel CRM, Exchange and SQL Server on 170 VMware VMs. The IT team needed to migrate VMs between datacenters without impacting users despite different storage platforms, and to implement fast, reliable backup and recovery to meet strict availability requirements.

Raad chose Veeam Backup & Replication for storage-agnostic replication, backup and recovery—using evening/weekend replication for a “big‑bang” migration and features like deduplication, compression, network mapping and automatic IP transformation. Veeam’s Instant VM Recovery and Veeam Explorer for Exchange cut restore times from hours to minutes, and the On‑Demand Sandbox lets the team test updates safely, delivering faster migrations, reduced downtime and virtualization-native data protection.
