A Veeam Case Study
BSH Hausgeräte GmbH, a Munich-based global leader in home appliances with 43 factories, more than 53,000 employees and operations in about 50 countries, faced a major backup challenge: a 90% virtualized, highly distributed environment spanning 65+ locations and 1,200 VMs. Their tape-based, agent-heavy backup process was slow, manual, lacked offsite flexibility and made fast recovery impractical for business-critical services.
BSH deployed Veeam Backup & Replication to provide agentless, storage-agnostic backups (to NetApp FAS onsite, remote repositories and a regional data center) and leveraged NetApp snapshots and Instant VM Recovery for fast restores. The solution delivered enterprise scalability and high availability, cut backup time by 5x and recovery time by 10x, reduced storage via incremental backups, deduplication and compression, and eliminated the operational burden of tape.
