A Veeam Case Study
Brighton Grammar School, an independent Anglican day school in Melbourne serving about 1,300 boys across four campuses, struggled with unreliable VM backups and slow recoveries from a legacy tool. Backups often failed or took 24 hours with only one recovery point per day, required in‑VM agents, and restorations took hours—making it difficult to meet recovery point and time objectives (RPOs/RTOs).
The school replaced the legacy tool with Veeam Backup & Replication and integrated HPE StoreVirtual snapshots. Backups became agentless, faster (daily window cut from 24 to 8 hours, then reduced further with snapshot-based incremental backups), and recoveries dropped from hours to minutes; Veeam’s automated recoverability checks and Virtual Lab added confidence, and snapshot/tape/WAN-acceleration features enabled frequent recovery points and ongoing cost savings in licensing.
