A Veeam Case Study
Research Machines (RM), the UK’s leading supplier of educational software and IT services, runs a fully virtualized Integration Services environment with 32 servers hosting more than 1,000 VMs. RM needed a reliable, easy-to-manage, and cost-effective backup solution that took full advantage of VMware after earlier products proved complex, expensive, and frequently failed—costing the team an extra 20% of their time and risking project delays.
Working with Prolinx, RM implemented Veeam Backup & Replication, which delivered dependable backups, strong VMware integration, and automation for VM provisioning. The result: failed-backup fallout was eliminated, backup and restore times were halved (from eight to four hours), cloning 30–50 VMs dropped from 2–3 days to half a day, and the team regained time and reduced human-resource requirements.
