AKKA Technologies Deploys Veeam to Drive Digital Transformation

AKKA Technologies, a European leader in engineering and R&D consulting with 16,000 employees across 50 sites, needed reliable, agnostic data protection to support its digital-transformation work for aerospace, automotive, rail and other highly regulated sectors. Protecting some 1,800 VMs and over 400 TB of data, the company faced long backup windows, slow restores and an inflexible previous solution that could not meet SLA requirements or support diverse environments (VMware, Hyper‑V, Windows, Linux, Exchange and SQL).

After a successful POC, AKKA deployed Veeam Backup & Replication (and Veeam Agent for Windows), gaining agentless, sandbox-capable backups and granular restores. Backup windows shrank from days to hours—18× faster—meeting RPO/RTO SLAs, freeing about 0.5 FTE per week (≈€40k/year), simplifying administration with no special training required, and enabling a global roll‑out that established Veeam as the company standard and supported AKKA’s innovation projects.
