DATEV eG, a leading German software and cloud service provider, needed a highly scalable data resilience approach to support rapid growth, uninterrupted services, and annual data growth of 20%. Working with Veeam and using Veeam Data Platform Advanced, DATEV aimed to protect its complex mix of virtual environments and ensure business continuity for millions of customers.

Veeam implemented a unified backup and recovery solution across DATEV’s heterogeneous infrastructure, protecting Windows and Linux VMs, databases, and VDI workloads while adding automation, visibility, and immutable backups. As a result, DATEV achieved a 100% backup success rate across 25,000 VMs and over 12 PB of data, recovered data up to 25 times per day, and improved efficiency with up to 4x backup performance gains and 1,000 VMs managed per backup server.
