A Veeam Case Study
ARGAS, an oil-and-gas services firm based in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia, had virtualized its entire IT estate (about 55 VMs) on Microsoft Hyper‑V and moved to Windows Server 2012. Its existing backup process was slow, manual and disruptive—servers were shut down for binary copies and tape offsite, backups ran only quarterly, and the team could not meet recovery time objectives or protect an upcoming ERP rollout.
Partnering with FutureTech Solutions, ARGAS deployed Veeam Backup & Replication to deliver fast, non-disruptive Hyper‑V backups and granular restores. Combined with Windows Server deduplication, Veeam’s built‑in compression and dedupe cut backup storage dramatically (about 7:1 compression, yielding ~150% storage reduction and up to 50% lower storage costs), reduced daily backup management to minutes, backed up 55 VMs in a single window, and sped recoveries (deleted emails restored in ~3 minutes), while fully protecting the new ERP.
