Ricoh Co. Ltd., a global provider of print and imaging solutions, faced a critical security challenge after the WannaCry ransomware incident exposed a lack of visibility inside its internal network. CSIRT teams saw endpoint alerts surge but could not quickly correlate those with perimeter logs to understand what was happening, leaving the company unable to detect and stop threats early across its distributed environment.

With help from Nissho Electronics, Ricoh trialed and then deployed Vectra AI’s network detection and response platform, gaining AI-driven, prioritized alerts and a clear dashboard that surfaces reconnaissance, lateral movement and unknown threats without rule-writing. The solution enabled real-time supervision of tens of thousands of endpoints, revealed shadow IT and virtual PCs, and shifted Ricoh’s security posture from reactive incident response to proactive threat detection and faster remediation.
