EON Productions and its partners faced the complex task of designing multiple, highly detailed Bond sets for Skyfall—ranging from a futuristic Shanghai tower and the curved surfaces of the London Underground to stunt-ready Istanbul rooftops and a destructible Scottish estate—under tight schedules, strict approvals, challenging camera perspectives, and intricate special-effects continuity requirements.

The art department used Vectorworks (Designer + Renderworks) to quickly model and adjust 3D designs (the Shanghai Tower was modeled in four days), manage scale and camera perspective with the Scale Objects feature, produce construction drawings and viewports, and share precise plans across international teams. This workflow sped approvals, reduced costly on-set changes, streamlined special-effects prep and construction, and helped deliver the polished, complex sets that supported Skyfall’s critical and commercial success.
