Case Study: Inoxidar achieves 25% time and cost savings on the Soerad Clinic design with VectorWorks BIM

Saving Significant Time and Money on the Soerad Clinic

Inoxidar, a Lisbon-based architecture studio led by Paulo Fernandes Pedroso, designed the 24,000 m2 Clínica Soerad near Lisbon — a multiuse hospital complex with courtyards, shops and extensive medical facilities. The project faced a high volume of design changes, tight site and height restrictions, and evolving site conditions that threatened to make documentation time-consuming and costly.

Using a Vectorworks BIM workflow and a fully parametric 3D model, the team updated sections, elevations and schedules automatically, worked across referenced files for multi-user collaboration, and generated coordinated, annotated drawings quickly. The BIM approach let them finish design in 18 months (vs. an estimated 24 months with conventional methods), saving roughly 25% in time and cost and avoiding the need to add staff.
