The M Group Architects & Interior Architects is a 17-person Reston firm that delivers office, corporate and mission-critical architecture and interiors. Founded on a collaborative, “zero ego” approach, the team faces challenges including tight program requirements, evolving workplace needs (mobile work, smaller footprints) and complex client standards—examples include relocating KPMG’s Pittsburgh office to maximize views and reimagining Thompson Hospitality’s entry to reinforce corporate identity.

M Group met these challenges through close client collaboration, smart use of Vectorworks/Renderworks for 2D/3D design, and sustainable, craft-driven detailing. The result: a full-floor KPMG suite with over 90% river views and LEED Silver–targeted features, a dramatic two-story atrium and façade for Thompson Hospitality, improved client buy-in via photorealistic renderings and streamlined team workflows that delivered on aesthetics, functionality and sustainability.
