Purdue University validates VectorNav VN-210 to 0.02° heading accuracy

Purdue University required an independent validation of the performance specifications for high-performance GNSS-aided inertial navigation systems. To meet this challenge, they selected the VN-200 and VN-210 GNSS/INS sensors from VectorNav Technologies for rigorous testing in an aerial photogrammetry application.

VectorNav Technologies provided their VN-200 and VN-210 units, which were installed in an aircraft alongside a high-accuracy reference camera. The post-processed results demonstrated that both VectorNav products exceeded their specified performance metrics. The VN-210 achieved an average pitch/roll accuracy of 0.02° and heading accuracy of 0.02°, while the VN-200 achieved an average pitch/roll accuracy of 0.04° and heading accuracy of 0.15°.
