When It Comes to Tracking Training for the NFPA 1401 Standard, Hanover Is ‘Light Years Ahead’ with TargetSolutions

Hanover Fire & EMS in Richmond, Va., faced the challenge of fully documenting training to meet NFPA 1401 standards for a large, mixed force — roughly 160 career members, 370 volunteer responders and 100 auxiliary members. Concerned about the legal and safety risks of incomplete records, Division Chief Eddie Buchanan turned to Vector Solutions’ TargetSolutions online training management system to centralize and standardize training documentation.

Vector Solutions’ TargetSolutions provided records management tools (including Activities Builder and Manage Credentials), more than 250 hours of CECBEMS‑accredited Fire and EMS content, and state integration for recertification. By building digital assignments for NFPA 1410 evolutions and ISO drills, Hanover now efficiently tracks training for about 630 personnel, maintains NFPA 1401 compliance, and streamlines credentialing and recertification.
