Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office Uses Vector Solutions to Track Training Hours

Sheriff Wasatch County, which staffs more than 100 sworn officers, search and rescue personnel, volunteers and support staff, faced a challenge meeting Utah POST’s requirement that officers complete 40 hours of training annually. Their previous system only recorded whether a class was taken, forcing Training Director Mitch McKee to review individual records manually. In September 2019 they implemented Vector Solutions’ Learning Management System (Vector LMS, formerly TargetSolutions) to centralize tracking and credential management.

Vector Solutions configured Vector LMS to use Manage Credentials so personnel can log classroom and hands-on training hours in one place and supervisors can monitor progress. The platform’s auto-generated, searchable reports (set up on a quarterly basis) let supervisors intervene before deadlines, eliminate duplicate data entry for POST reporting, and remove the need to comb through individual files—streamlining compliance tracking and improving oversight.
