Training Tech Helps Improve Outcomes at Tri-Com Central Dispatch

Tri‑Com Central Dispatch, which handles about 125,000 9‑1‑1 calls annually and trains 26 staff members, needed a more reliable way to onboard employees and track certifications and monthly training. To solve this, Tri‑Com implemented Vector Solutions’ Learning Management System (LMS) (formerly TargetSolutions) in 2016 to manage training for roughly six new Telecommunicators a year plus IT, GIS, CAD and supervisory staff.

Vector Solutions’ LMS centralized onboarding, credentialing, monthly EMD/APCO training, policy reviews, a bulletin board and file repository, replacing error‑prone spreadsheets and Word documents. The system gives supervisors automated completion notifications and customizable reports, improving transparency, accountability and risk management while streamlining certification tracking and continuing education—demonstrating measurable gains in training efficiency and oversight from Vector Solutions.
