Suburban Department Improves Training Consistency, Compliancy with TargetSolutions

Lafayette Township Fire Department, a 44-member suburban combination department that responds to roughly 500 calls a year, needed a more consistent, convenient way to deliver and track mandatory fire and EMS training. In January 2014 the department turned to Vector Solutions’ TargetSolutions online training platform to standardize coursework, improve compliancy, and reduce the administrative burden of manual training management.

Vector Solutions implemented TargetSolutions’ web-based training, testing, tracking and e-signature tools, allowing Lafayette to assign pre- and post-training work, attach department policies, and generate single compliance reports. The change reduced in-person sessions and manual data entry, streamlined use of payroll hours, and produced immediate results — nearly 80% training compliance within the first few months — giving the department a quantifiable, auditable training record.
