A Vector Solutions Case Study
San Juan School District, which serves more than 3,000 students across 12 schools, needed a proactive way to foster critical conversations on sensitive student safety and wellness topics (alcohol, drugs/vaping, bullying, digital citizenship, sexual harassment, and suicide risk). The district had long used the Vector Solutions Staff Safety & Compliance Training System (formerly SafeSchools) for staff training, and when Vector Solutions launched its Student Safety & Wellness Courses in 2019, HR Director and Title IX Coordinator Matthew Keyes identified them as a trusted resource to address these student needs.
Vector Solutions’ student-centered, video-based courses were reviewed and approved by district leadership and rolled out across the district’s five high schools—initially using Sexual Harassment and Digital Citizenship modules during HOPE Week, plus targeted assignments for remediation and restorative practices. Teachers were coached to facilitate discussions and parents were engaged; the result, according to staff and community partners, has been deeper, more meaningful conversations with students, positive feedback from a local prevention coalition, and broader student engagement across the district.
