Shifting to Online Professional Development Tracking Saves Educators Valuable Time

Archbishop Hoban High School, a private Catholic high school in Akron, Ohio serving over 800 students and 60 faculty/staff, needed to replace a paper-and-pencil process for tracking professional development hours for licensed staff. In 2017 the school turned to Vector Solutions and its Vector PD Tracking (Vector Professional Development Tracking Solution) to give teachers better access and responsibility for tracking hours needed for license renewal.

Vector Solutions implemented Vector PD Tracking to let educators log PD from school-hosted events, faculty meetings, PLCs, and outside activities, attach activities to state licensure requirements, generate PD transcripts, and give administrators detailed progress reports. As a result, teachers can self-monitor credits without scheduling appointments and the Local Professional Development Committee no longer manually tracks each teacher’s hours—eliminating a major administrative bottleneck and saving staff significant time.
