A Vector Solutions Case Study
Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District, a six‑station agency protecting about 33,000 residents across 50 square miles in southern California, needed a more efficient way to manage crew scheduling, callbacks and emergency staffing in a high wildland‑urban interface area. To address those challenges the District implemented CrewSense, a workforce management solution offered by Vector Solutions (which brought CrewSense together with TargetSolutions), to centralize scheduling, notifications and shift management.
Vector Solutions’ CrewSense—deployed in January 2018—gave Rancho Santa Fe a visual scheduling dashboard, a strike team module and mobile communication tools that automated shift trades, overtime offers and emergency callbacks. The system let administrators recall personnel from the field, rapidly fill openings, and deploy crews to northern California wildland fires in 2018 while maintaining home‑station coverage, streamlining workforce management across the District.
