Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Uses Check It to Track Assets and Justify New Rigs

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue faced an aging 75-unit fleet and a cumbersome manual tracking system that made it impossible to document out-of-service time, maintenance costs, and inventory across 22 stations. To support justification for new rigs and streamline logistics for more than 650 suppression personnel handling 120,000+ calls a year, LVF&R implemented Vector Solutions’ Check It mobile app to replace spreadsheets and centralize asset tracking.

Vector Solutions’ Check It was rolled out in 2020 for vehicle maintenance, supply requests, repairs, apparatus checks, and PPE inspections, giving LVF&R real-time inventory counts, maintenance history, and reorder thresholds. The centralized, reportable data lets the department run audits, track out-of-service unit time, improve crew accountability, and document costs to justify replacements—while saving staff time (mechanics now use photos to triage issues) and simplifying day-to-day logistics.
