Kern County Fire Department Overcomes Early Challenges to Maximize TargetSolutions

Kern County Fire Department, a career department in Central California with more than 600 employees across 47 stations, needed a way to standardize and document a wide range of mandated training. Working with Vector Solutions to deploy its TargetSolutions online training and management system, the department initially faced IT/firewall issues and resistance from personnel used to DVDs and manual tracking during implementation.

Vector Solutions’ TargetSolutions now schedules, delivers, tracks and reports online, instructor-led and drill-yard training; with Vector Solutions’ support (including Account Manager Kegan Konrady), Kern County averages nearly 9,000 completed assignments per month, captures EMS recertification, ISO, ARFF and JAC hours, and has reduced some drill workflows from eight hours to four—improving training productivity, record-keeping and operational readiness.
