Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue, which serves 105,000 residents across 70 square miles with 11 stations and 265 employees, needed a way to streamline training, paperwork and complex shift scheduling while ensuring fair callback ranking and overtime distribution. In 2019 they implemented Vector Solutions’ Learning Management System and later added Vector Solutions Scheduling to increase transparency and better track ISO/registry hours and staff assignments.

Vector Solutions delivered a rules-based, customizable Scheduling app and LMS that automated callback ranking, overtime assignment and training delivery, eliminating much paper work and saving significant administrative time—especially during six months of COVID-19 mandatory force hiring. The Scheduling app gives employees visibility into their ranking, compliance alerts for understaffed shifts, and mobile/web calendar controls, improving fairness, transparency and operational efficiency according to Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue.
