Dunedin Fire Department, which staffs three stations and an emergency operations center in Pinellas County, FL, faced complex scheduling, payroll and training challenges driven by 24-hour shifts, specialty roles, overtime rules, event coverage and legacy tools (spreadsheets, an old county mainframe and multiple siloed systems). To modernize, Dunedin selected Vector Solutions, deploying Vector Scheduling for shift management, Vector’s Learning Management System (formerly TargetSolutions) for training and Vector Check It for apparatus and equipment checks.
Vector Solutions centralized scheduling and payroll exports, introduced mobile sign-up boards, shift swaps, mass-text alerts and time-off approvals—reducing manual data re-entry and improving coverage for Blue Jays events and hurricane activations. The Vector LMS digitized training (moving about 400 pounds of paper), supported 55 Dunedin users and an 18-department shared enterprise site, delivered ISO Training Tracker reporting and automated 30/60/90-day credential reminders. Vector Check It gives a dashboard of vehicle/equipment status to speed repairs and reduce overdue checks, producing measurable time savings, better payroll accuracy and improved operational readiness.
