A Vector Solutions Case Study
Dartmouth College, a private Ivy League university with about 4,500 undergraduates, faced a culture of unreported organizational misconduct—especially hazing and improper alcohol use—within Greek life and student groups. To give students an easy, anonymous way to report violations, the college adopted Vector Solutions’ LiveSafe Mobile Platform to collect tips and surface unsafe practices.
Using Vector Solutions’ LiveSafe, Dartmouth encouraged tip submissions that prompted external investigators to review reports and probe multiple groups (including fraternities, sororities, co‑ed houses, athletics teams, a student life organization and a performance group). Investigators found five Greek houses and two sports teams in violation of policies; sanctions included alcohol screening, intervention classes and suspension of social activities. The LiveSafe program enabled Dartmouth to address hazing and alcohol abuse, leading to concrete enforcement actions and a safer campus community.
