Cortez Fire Colorado implemented Vector Solutions’ Vector Scheduling in early 2020 to modernize and simplify biweekly shift planning for its mix of full‑time, part‑time and volunteer personnel. Prior to the rollout they spent hours coordinating availability, manually contacting reserve staff to fill open shifts, and struggled to track hours and COVID‑related training and schedule changes.
Vector Solutions delivered the Vector Scheduling mobile app so employees can submit availability, auto‑fill shifts using department rules, request and approve trades, and run digital reports. The system enabled faster recalls (callbacks in a few clicks), greater fairness via tiebreaker rules (seniority, certifications, hours), better volunteer coordination, and improved accuracy in accrual, overtime and time‑off reporting for Cortez Fire Colorado.
