Cherokee County School District Keeps Students Safe with Anonymous Tip Reporting

Cherokee County School District (CCSD), a Metro Atlanta K–12 system with 42 schools, 4,800 employees, and over 42,200 students, needed to bolster student safety and support its Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) initiative. As texting and digital communication grew, tips to the district’s safety phone line declined, so CCSD turned to Vector Solutions, using the Vector Training System for staff training and the Vector Alert Anonymous Tip Reporting System to modernize reporting options.

Vector Solutions expanded CCSD’s reporting channels through Vector Alert—adding text, email, phone, web, and a mobile app—which led to a dramatic increase in safety tips and enabled the district to intervene in numerous serious incidents, including disciplinary issues, vaping, bullying, student mental health crises, and suicide ideation. The system improved communication between students, parents, and the district, empowered students to report concerns anonymously, and, when promoted by CCSD (including a video from the school police chief), measurably increased tip volume and timely interventions.
