Moore Industries, a long-established leader in industrial process interface instruments, needed to validate embedded software for a dual-input temperature transmitter to meet IEC 61508 functional-safety requirements. Vector Software and partner CRITICAL Software implemented a Project Management Plan, tested about 25,000 LOC in staged increments using VectorCAST tools, and managed communication via JIRA and weekly reports. The team achieved full requirement and decision-condition coverage, ran tests on PC and target hardware, and delivered the project in four months—versus an estimated 18 months if done internally—on time and on budget, while enabling Moore to adopt VectorCAST for ongoing, self-sufficient testing.
