ŠKODA ELECTRIC Achieves EN 50128 Compliance with VectorCAST

ŠKODA ELECTRIC, a leading manufacturer of traction electronics with over 750 employees and €125M+ in annual revenue, needed to streamline Verification & Validation and achieve EN 50128 compliance. They faced the challenge of replacing an internally developed unit-test framework and several free code‑coverage tools that were unsuitable for embedded software, and required a solution that would integrate with their ARM, TI Code Composer Studio and GCC-based development environments.

Following a rigorous evaluation, ŠKODA ELECTRIC implemented Vector Software’s VectorCAST for unit/integration/system testing, code coverage and automated regression (VectorCAST/Manage), integrating it into their embedded toolchain. The result was faster defect detection, shorter test cycles, daily regression testing and standardized low‑level testing, producing auditors‑ready validation artifacts and measurable improvements in productivity and software quality.
