Safety Critical Testing for Flight Control Software

BAE Systems Platform Solutions develops safety-critical flight control computers for military aircraft, programmed in Ada and required to meet stringent structural test-coverage and certification standards while keeping cost and schedule under control. The challenge was to deliver the necessary level of test evidence across multiple programmes without compromising time or budget.

To meet this need, BAE selected VectorCAST for its functionality, ease of use, and integration with Green Hills Software toolsets. In use since 2004 on projects such as the Hawk Advanced Jet Trainer and Eurofighter Typhoon, VectorCAST (including VectorCAST/Ada, VectorCAST/RSP and VectorCAST/MCDC) has provided an efficient and effective testing solution that supports the company’s certification requirements.
