Case Study: Turkish Aerospace Industries achieves DO-178B Level A compliance for C-130 modernization with Vector Software's VectorCAST

Modernizing the Fleet Using VectorCAST

Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), based in Ankara, Turkey, led the ERCIYES C-130 Modernization Project to upgrade avionics on 13 C-130E and 6 C-130B aircraft for the Turkish Air Force. Much of the installed equipment software on these aging Hercules airframes was not RTCA/DO-178B compliant, and TAI needed to achieve DO-178B Level A certification across 23 integrated systems on an accelerated development schedule.

To meet that goal, TAI adopted Vector Software’s VectorCAST automated test platform to automate unit and integration testing, perform code‑coverage analysis, and manage regression tests. The automation helped streamline verification across all systems, enabling TAI to satisfy DO-178B Level A requirements and complete the upgrades so the aircraft comply with GATM, RVSM, and CAT-II ILS standards.
