Meeting the Challenges of DO-178B Testing

Honeywell Aerospace, a global provider of avionics, engines and systems for commercial, military and space markets, faced the need to achieve DO-178B structural coverage while minimizing time and resource expenditure and improving the reliability and quality of its flight software. The company required test tools that supported DO-178B compliance and could handle both Ada and C codebases.

Honeywell selected VectorCAST/C++ and VectorCAST/Ada for unit and integration testing and VectorCAST/Cover for code coverage analysis. VectorCAST has been adopted as a standard for software quality and testing across several of Honeywell’s safety‑essential and critical commercial and defense aerospace applications, helping the team meet DO-178B requirements and raise software reliability.
